Fish and Vegetable Batter

Category: Fish

This will cover 6 - 8 6oz. fillets.

1 large Egg, beaten
1/2 cup All-purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon Baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar

3/8 cup Beer
OR
3/8 cup Milk or Buttermilk

1/4 cup Water


Mix all ingredients together in a shallow bowl. Add water until the batter is a smooth heavy cream consistency. Dip fish or vegetables in batter and fry or deep-fry in hot oil until a nice golden brown. A heavier batter makes a thicker coating.
