  • 1/2 cup basil leaves, packed
  • 1/4 cup walnut pieces, toasted & divided, PLUS
  • 2 tablespoons walnut pieces, toasted & divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 5 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 package (12 ounce size) uncooked linguine
  • 1 pound cooked Italian sausage links, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets

Combine basil, 1/4 cup walnuts and garlic in food processor or blender container; process until smooth. Add cheese. With machine running, pour oil through feed tube and process until ingredients are well blended; set aside.

Prepare pasta according to package directions. During last 2 minutes of cooking, add sausage and broccoli to pasta; drain.

Combine pasta mixture with pesto. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Garnish with remaining walnuts.
