1 package active dry yeast, or 1 tablespoon bread machine [instant] yeast
1 1/8 cups warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons oil
3 cups flour

Combine active dry yeast, warm water, and sugar; allow to stand until foamy. If your yeast mixture dosen't bubble a foam, replace it, it is dead. [For bread machine yeast: Add with first cup of flour]. Add oil, and salt, blending well. Add 1 cup of flour at a time blending well until your have a soft dough. Lightly flour a pastry board or table top and knead dough on board until smooth and elastic. Grease a large bowl, and place kneaded dough in bowl, greasing top of dough. Cover and allow to rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk. Punch down, and spread evenly over pan, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray and sprinkled with cornmeal [The cornmeal helps the dough to stick to the pan in the presance of the spray now, and to release later]. Cover with you favorite toppings and bake at 400*, until crust is lightly browned and cheese is melted or browned to desired doneness.
