Chili Seasoning Mix

1 1/8 cups flour
3/4 cup instant minced onion
2 tablespoons salt
1/3 cup chili powder
2 tablespoons ground cumin
1 1/2 tablespoons Instant minced garlic
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper
2 teaspoons sugar

Combine and mix all ingredients. Store in air-tight container.

TO USE: Brown 1 lb ground beef in a pot; drain excess fat; sprinkle contents over meat; stirring well. Stir in a 15 oz. can tomato sauce; 1/4 cup water and a 15 oz can of undrained kidney beans. Simmer and stir, uncovered, for 20 to 30 minutes.

NOTES: After browning meat and draining fat, add 1/4 cup chopped onion and cook until tender, then add seasoning and tomato sauce. For Mom's chili add 15 ounces diced tomatoes instead of or in addition to the kidney beans.
