Basic Fruit Waters

1 1/2-2 cups chopped fruit
2 quarts water, divided
8 ounces vodka

Use only firm ripe fruit, do not use bruised or inferior fruit.

For every 1 1/2 cups chopped fruit use 1 quart of water. Place in a crock over a low fire, and distill slowly. Distill again with the second quart of water. Cool. Add vodka, bottle and cap. Allow to age before using.
