Celeriac & cheese bake

1 Celeriac
1 Small pot of double cream
1/4 pint of milk
3 oz Medium or strong cheddar
Ground nutmeg
Peal, chop into four then thinly slice the celeriac and place in a saucepan. Put enough cream and milk 50/50 to 3/4 cover the Celeriac and sprinkle with ground nutmeg. bring to boil and simmer for about 5 minutes.
Put into an oven dish and grate a good layer of cheese over the celeriac. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180oC or until the cheese browns.
Don't worry about being precise with the amounts as celeriac vary in size so the amounts vary accordingly.
This can be eaten by itself - serves two, or with a roast dinner - serves six. we always have this with roast beef - heaven on a plate!
