STRAWBERRY GRAHAM TORTE

3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup oil
3 cups sliced fresh strawberries
1 cup coarsely chopped pecans, toasted
3 egg whites
36 graham cracker squares
1 cup whipped cream
Graham cracker crumbs

In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar and oil. Stir in strawberries and pecans. In a bow, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add remaining sugar, beat until stiff peaks form. Gently fold in strawberry mixture. Cover bottom of a 9 inch square baking dish with 9 graham cracker squares. Spread 1/3rd of the strawberry mixture over crackers. Repeat layering 3 more times, topping with 9 crackers. Cover, chill overnight. Before serving, spread whipped cream on top and sprinkle with crumbs. Serves 9
