BEEF AND BEAN CASSEROLE

1 lb ground beef
1 (28 oz) can baked beans
1/2 cup chopped green pepper and onion
1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
1 (8 1/2 oz) pkg corn muffin mix
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

In skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and green pepper until meat is browned; drain. Combine meat mixture, baked beans, and tomato paste. Spoon mixture into lightly greased 8 inch square baking dish.
Prepare muffin mix according to pkg directions. Spread evenly over bean mixture. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese and continue baking 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Serves 8
