FROSTY STRAWBERRY DESSERT

Crust
1 1/2 cups flour
2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup oil
1/2 tsp salt

Topping
2 egg whites, room temperature
1 (10 oz) pkg frozen whole strawberries, halved and partially thawed
1 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 pint heavy whipping cream
1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds

Crust: Preheat oven to 350. Mix ingredients in a bowl and pat into a 13x9 inch baking dish. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Crust should be white when baked. Cool.

Topping: In a large bowl, beat egg whites until a little frothy. Add strawberries, juice and all, vanilla and lemon juice. Mix well. Add sugar gradually. Beat at high speed approximately 15 minutes. Mixture will triple in size and be fluffy.

In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream until fluffy. Fold whipped cream into strawberry mixture. Spread on top of crust and sprinkle top with almonds. Freeze at least 6 hours. (Can be made in advance and frozen for as long as one month.) Cut into squares. Serves 12
