SAUSAGE GRAVY FOR BISCUITS

1 lb bulk sausage
1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
6 tbsp flour
1 tsp sugar
3 cups milk
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil

In a skillet, cook first 4 ingredients. Drain fat. Stir in flour and sugar. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in basil. Serve over biscuits.
