SAUSAGE BAKE

1/2 cup butter
1 lb bulk sausage
6 slices French bread, cubed
2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dill
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
6 eggs
2 cups milk

Melt butter and pour into a 13x9 inch baking dish. Brown sausage and set aside. Layer half the bread in a baking pan and sprinkle with spices and 1/2 the cheese. Top with sausage and remaining cheese. Layer rest of bread. Beat eggs and milk. Pour over contents of baking pan. Bake at 350 for 1/2 hour or until set. Cut into squares and serve hot.
