CHEESY GRITS AND SAUSAGE BAKE

2 lb bulk sausage (1 spice and 1 mild), cooked, crumbled and drained
1 cup grits, not instant
2 tbsp butter
5 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 350. Cook grits according to directions. Add butter and cool. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk and beat again. Add this mixture to the grits and stir in the cheese and season with salt and pepper. Put sausage in the bottom of a 13x9 inch baking dish and cover with the grits mixture. Bake for 45 minutes. Cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares to serve. Serves 81-0
