PECAN PRALINE BARS

18.25-ounce box yellow cake mix
1/4 cup butter
4 cups pecans, in halves or chopped coarsely
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup whipping cream or heavy cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine cake mix and 1/4 cup butter and mix until mixture is crumbly. Press into a 10-by-15-inch ungreased jelly roll pan. Sprinkle pecans on top. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.

In a saucepan over medium heat combine both sugars, 1 cup butter and honey. Bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes, or until it thickens like syrup and is not watery. Remove from heat and blend with cream. Pour over baked crust. Return to oven and bake 17 to 22 minutes, or until it just comes to a bubble. Don't over bake. Let cool completely on wire rack. Cut into bars.

Makes 5 dozen bars.
