1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/4 cup flour
1 - 12 oz bag chocolate chips
1/3 cup butter
Preheat oven to 350.
In a medium bowl cream together the first six ingredients.
In a separate bowl sift together the flour and baking soda. Add to the creamed mixture and stir until combined. Press into an ungreased 9x13 baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl at 30 second intervals, stirring in between and adding the butter a tablespoon or two at a time until completely melted and smooth. Pour onto the peanut butter bars once baked and spread evenly. Allow to cool, cut and serve.
