CREAMY NOODLE-AND-CHEESE CASSEROLE

4 ounces dried spinach and/or plain noodles
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
1 cup cream-style cottage cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
1 teaspoon steak sauce
1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
Dash pepper
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup dairy sour cream

Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain. Meanwhile, in a small skillet, cook onion, and garlic in butter until tender.

In a large bowl, combine the noodles, onion-garlic mixture, cottage cheese, sour cream, 1/2 cup of the cheddar cheese, steak sauce, seasoned salt, basil, and pepper. Transfer mixture to a 1-quart casserole. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and the bread crumbs. Bake in a 350 degree F oven about 30 minutes or until heated through. Makes 6 servings.
