SEAFOOD AND ARTICHOKE CASSEROLE

1 (14 oz) can artichokes, drained
1 pound shrimp
1 pound crab meat, picked over
1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
6 1/2 tablespoons butter
4 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cup half-and-half
1 tablespoon hot sauce or Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup dry white wine or sherry
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
Paprika to taste
Chopped parsley
Preheat oven to 375. Grease a 3-quart baking dish. Layer the bottom with the artichokes. Next, layer with the shrimp and crab. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan. Add mushrooms and sauté until softened. Spread over seafood.
Melt remaining butter in the saucepan. Whisk in the flour. Cook, stirring, 5 minutes. Slowly whisk in the half-and-half. Cook and stir until thick and smooth. Stir in hot sauce, wine, salt, and pepper.
Pour over mushrooms. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika. Bake 20 minutes. Serves 4-6
