ITALIAN-STYLE BAKED BEANS

1 1/2 lbs Italian sausage
6 (16 oz) cans beans (mixture of garbanzo, baked, kidney and great Northern)
2 large onions, minced
2 large green peppers, diced
2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste
2 bay leaves
2 tbsp dry mustard and brown sugar
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp garlic salt

Cut sausage into bite-size pieces; fry, drain off fat. Scrape brown bits into a slow cooker. Drain beans and combine with onion, green pepper and tomato paste in slow cooker. Add bay leaves, mustard, brown sugar, oregano and salt. Stir sausage into bean mixture. Cook on high until mixture bubbles. Turn to low heat and cook 6 to 8 hours. If there is too much liquid, spoon it off. Serves 12 to 14.
