BBQ BAKED BEANS I

1/4 lb bacon, chopped
1 large onion, finely chopped
3 (15 to 19 oz) cans great northern beans, red kidney beans or cannelloni beans, drained
1 cup barbecue sauce
1/4 cup hot pepper sauce
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar

Sauté bacon and onion in 5-quart saucepot until bacon is crisp. Stir in remaining ingredients. Heat to a boil. Simmer, partially covered, 20 minutes until slightly thickened and flavors are blended. Stir occasionally.

Oven: Saute bacon and onion in heat-proof Dutch oven until bacon is crisp. Stir in remaining ingredients. Bake at 400 for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
