DEEP DARK CHOCOLATE FONDUE

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (at least 63 percent cacao)
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons light corn syrup
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 1/2 teaspoons liqueur, such as Bailey's or Frangelico, or vanilla extract

In a medium, heavy saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the chocolate with the cream, corn syrup, salt and butter. Cook, stirring with a wooden spoon, until the chocolate melts and the fondue is silken, 8 to 10 minutes.

Mix in the liqueur or vanilla. Pour the warm fondue into a ceramic fondue dish or prewarmed heavy ceramic bowl. Serve immediately on a large platter surrounded by your choice of dippers. Serves 8.
