Shelly's Recipe

* FAVORITE APPLESAUCE LOAF CAKE*

1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 cup finely packed light brown sugar
2 1/2 cups sifted flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp each cinnamon and ground cloves
1/4 cup wheat germ
2 cups sweetened applesauce
1/4 cup whiskey
1 cup walnuts, chopped
1 cup raisins or chopped dates, optional

Preheat oven to 325. Have all ingredients at room temperature. Grease a loaf pan. Cream together first 3 ingredients in a mixer. Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients and pour into pan. Bake for 55-60 minutes. Cool and remove from pan
