PRALINE FROSTED BROWNIES

1 pkg. Milk Chocolate Brownie Mix
3 large eggs, beaten
1/2 c. canola oil
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1/2 heavy or whipping cream. he
6 Tbsp. unsalted butter
1 1/2 c. packed light brown sugar
3/4 c. chopped pecans
1 1/2 c. confectioner’s powdered sugar
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 350 degree. Coat the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter.
In a mixing bowl, make the brownie mix per package instructions for cake-like brownies using the eggs, oil & water. Then additionally, stir in the 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract and 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. Spread batter evenly into your prepared baking dish.
Bake for 25-28 minutes. Brownies are done when a cake tester or toothpick inserted an inch from the edge of the baking dish comes out clean. Cool brownies for at least an hour in the baking dish placed on a wire rack.
After brownies have cooled for at least an hour, make the Praline Frosting. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the cream and the brown sugar and bring mixture to a boil. Continue cooking or boiling for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Then remove pan from the heat and stir in the 3/4 cup pecans, confectioners sugar and teaspoon of vanilla extract until mixture is well blended. Cool frosting for 5 minutes stirring every minute to maintain the blended consistency. Pour over cooled brownies spreading evenly over top of brownies.
Place the baking dish, uncovered, in your refrigerator for an hour or until top of frosting hardens slightly. Cut brownies into squares and serve.Brownies may be stored in a covered container n your refrigerator for up to 5 days.
