BAKED SOURDOUGH MONTEREY BREAD WITH BEAU MONDE SEASONING

Category: Bread

1 lb. loaf of round sourdough bakery bread
12. oz. Monterey Jack Cheese cut into 1/4-inch slices
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp. Beau Monde Seasoning
1/2 tsp. Dijon mustard
Juice from 1 fresh lemon

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place a sheet of tin foil on a baking dish large enough to contain the bread.

Make 6 slices across the length of the bread being careful to not cut all the way through. Turn the bread and make 4 slices lengthwise, again being careful not to slice all the way through. Place bread on the sheet of tin foil on the baking dish. Place the Monterey Jack cheese slices in the crevices of the bread

In a small bowl, combine the melted butter with the Beau Monde Seasoning, Dijon mustard & the juice from 1 lemon. Pour mixture into all the crevices of the bread.

Wrap foil a quarter of the way up the sides of the bread. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until top is lightly browned & cheese is melted. Place on a serving platter and serve hot allowing guests to pull off slices of the cheesy bread. Makes 1 loaf or 35 slices serving 6-8 people
