TEXAS BROWNIES

2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2-1 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup strong brewed coffee
1/4 cup dark unsweetened cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda

Frosting
1/2-1 cup butter
2 tbspdark cocoa
1/4 cup milk
3 1/2 cups unsifted powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla

In large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. In heavy saucepan, combine butter,shortening,coffee and cocoa.
Stir and heat to boiling. Pour boiling mixture over the flour and sugar in bowl.
Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda & vanilla.
Mix will,using wooden spoon or on high sprrd electric mixer. Pour into well buttered jelly roll pan. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes or until brownies test done in center.

While brownies bake, prepare the frosting.
In saucepan,combine butter,cocoa and milk.
Heat to boiling,stirring. Mix in powdered sugar and vanilla stir until smooth. Pour warm frosting over brownies as soon as you take them out of the oven. Cool before cutting.
