JACK IN THE BEANS

1 small onion, chopped
2 tbsp bacon drippings or oil
2 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 cup whiskey
1 (28 oz) can pork and beans
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp liquid smoke

Heat oil in a large skillet. Stir in onion and brown sugar. Cook, stirring frequently, over medium-low heat until onion is golden brown, about 5 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer 20-30 minutes. Serves 6
