CHICKAN AND DUMPLINGS - Crock pot

Chicken
5 cups chicken broth
1/2 tsp each black pepper, poultry seasoning basil and oregano
1 tbsp salt
8 cloves garlic, minced
1 onion, chopped
3-4 carrots, peeled and cut into small chunks
1 chicken, cut into serving pieces
6 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 cup water
2 cups baking mix
2/3 cup milk
1 tsp dried parsley flakes
Place chicken ingredients in crock pot and cook on for LOW 8-10 hours or on HIGH for 3-5 hours. Towards the end of the cooking, mix cornstarch and water to combine and stir mixture in broth to thicken.
Dumplings: Combine dumpling ingredients and drop by heaping tspfuls onto broth. Cover and check after 10 minutes to see if dumplings are cakelike. Check every few minutes until done.
