CANTONESE MEATBALLS
Category: Meatballs
1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup minced onions
1 tsp salt and pepper
1/4 tsp ground ginger
5 tbsp teriyaki sauce
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
1 cup pineapple juice
1/4 cup vinegar
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tbsp butter
1 cup sliced celery
1/2 cup sliced green or red bell pepper
1/2 cup slivered almonds, slivered
Combine first 7 ingredients and form into small meatballs. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
Sauce: Combine sugar and next 4 ingredients, cooking over low heat and stirring constantly until clear and thickened. Add vegetables and heat gently about 5 minutes. Place meatballs on a bed of cooked rice and top with sauce. Sprinkle with almonds. Serves 4
