SWISS STYLE BEEF BIRDS - Crock pot

1 1/2 lbs round steak
1 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp each caraway seeds, salt and pepper
2 medium coarrots, peeled, halved and cut into strips
2 kosher dill pickles, cut into strips
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 small onion, chopped
1 tbsp flour
3 tbsp minced fresh parsley

Pound steak to 1/4 inch thickness. Sprinkle with seasonings and cut into 5 to 6 serving pieces. Place several carrots strips and 2 pickle strips on each piece of meat. Beginning at narrow end, roll up and secure with small skewers or wooden picks. Place meat in slow cooker.

In a small bowl, combine garlic powder and next 3 ingredients and pour mixture over meat. Cover and cook on LOW for 7-9 hours. Sprinkle with parsley before serving. Serves 5-6
