CHATTANOOGA CHEW CHEWS

1 cup flour
1/4 salt and baking powder
10 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
5 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 pkg miniature peanut butter cups, quartered
Frosting (recipe follows)

Preheat oven to 350. Lightly grease an 8-inch square baking pan. In a bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. Set aside. In a pot, melt chocolate and butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until combined. Stir in flour mixture until combined.

Spread 1 cup batter in pan. Set aside 32 peanut butter cup quarters and sprinkle the remaining quarters over the batter. Pour remaining batter over the batter in the pan. Bake 40 minutes or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly soft. Cool completely. Spread frosting over cookies and sprinkle with reserved peanut butter cup quarters. Makes 16 cookies.

Frosting: In a medium bowl, beat 2 cups confectioners sugar and 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter until combined. Beat in 4 to 6 tablespoons of milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, until frosting is smooth.
