TWINKIE PIE

Butter
9 Twinkies
3 eggs, separated
1 dash cream of tartar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
6 oz chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup whipped topping

Grease rectangular casserole with butter. Cut 8 Twinkies in thirds, lengthwise, and put one layer on the bottom of the casserole.

Beat egg whites with the cream of tarter and sugar, adding vanilla.

Melt chocolate and slowly add yolks to chocolate, continue to stir over double boiler. Fold chocolate into egg whites.

Spread over Twinkies, then sprinkle with half of the nuts. Continue to layer, ending with whipped cream and a single whole Twinkie. Chill and serve.
