TRIPLE DIPPED APPLES

4-5 medium apples
4-5 wood sticks
1 (14 oz) pkg caramels
2 tbsp water
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
2 (4 oz) pkg German sweet chocolate
2 tsp butter
Wash and dry apples, insert sticks into stem of each. Microwave caramels and water on high 2-3 minutes or until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth, stirring every minute. Dip apples in caramel until well coated. Scrap excess from bottom of apples with knife or spatula. Roll bottom half with nuts. Press on greased tray and refrigerate at least 15 minutes.
Microwave chocolate and butter in a bowl on high for 2-3 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted; stirring halfway through heating time. Remove from microwave and stir until chocolate is completely melted. Decorate apples by drizzling or spooning chocolate onto the top half. Let stand until chocolate is firm.
