HONEYED PORK CHOPS

6 pork chops 3/4 inch thick
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp. ketchup
1/2 c. water
3 tbsp. honey
1 small onion, finely chopped
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. toasted sesame seeds

Brown chops in small amount of fat; place in 13x9 inch baking pan. (Don’t salt chops; soy sauce does the job.)

Combine remaining ingredients except sesame seeds. Pour over chops, sprinkle on sesame seeds.

Cover baking pan and bake in slow oven (325 degrees) for about 1 hour, or until chops are tender. (I thickened the sauce with a cornstarch slurry before serving.)

Makes 6 servings.
