1 1/2 cups vanilla wafer crumbs
1/2 cup finely ground blanched almonds
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
5 tbsp butter, melted
1/4 tsp almond extract

Combine ingredients and pat mixture evenly onto bottom and up the sides of a greased 9 inch pie plate. Bake at 400 for 8 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely before adding desired filling.

NOTE: I like making this for Coconut Cream Pie.
