GRANDMAs RICE SKILLET SUPPER - Easy

1 lb sausage
1/2 cup each chopped onion, celery, green or red bell pepper and mushrooms
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup uncooked rice
1 envelope dry chicken soup mix
4 cups water

Brown sausage in a skillet. Add next 6 ingredients and brown for a few minutes. Drain off liquid. Add dry soup mix and water and bring to a boil, simmer for 1 hour, covered. Season for salt and pepper. Serves 4-6
