PINK PARTY DESSERT

1 (10 oz) pkg strawberry halves, thawed
1 (3 oz) pkg strawberry gelatin
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup boiling water
1 prepared angel food cake mix

Drain thawed berries; reserving 3/4 cup syrup. Dissolve jello and sugar in boiling water. Add syrup. Chill until very thick.

Cut cake into 1 inch cubes. Arrange half of cake pieces in a 13x9 inch pan. Fold drained berries into jello. Pour about half of the mixture over the cake. Top with remaining cake and jello mixture. Chill until firm. Cut into squares.
