BARBECUED COUNTRY STYLE RIBS

3 lbs country style pork ribs, cut into individual pieces
1 tsp salt
Pepper, to taste
Marinade
1 cup red wine and red wine vinegar
1 carrot, peeled and grated
1 small onion, peeled and stuck with 3 whole cloves
1/4 tsp thyme
3 clove garlic, minced
Combine the ingredients for the marinade in a resealable gab. Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper; place them in the marinade, for 2 hours at room temperature, or covered in the refrigerated overnight. Turn ribs occasionally.
Preheat oven to 450 for 15 minutes. Remove the ribs from the marinade and place on a rack positioned over roasting pan and cook for 10 minutes preside. Remove pan from oven. Reduce heat to 350. Spoon marinade on ribs, coating well. Return the pan to the oven. Every 15 minutes turn and baste the ribs. When the sauce forms a rich glaze, about 45 minutes, remove from oven and serve.
