TWISTED TUNA SALAD

1 lb rotini pasta
2 cans (12 ounces each) tuna packed in water, drained
11/4 cups diced celery
1/2 cup minced red onion
1 lb frozen peas, thawed and drained
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
11/2 cups buttermilk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add pasta and cook according to package instructions, until al dente. Drain, rinse with cool water, and drain again thoroughly.
In large bowl, combine pasta, tuna, celery, onion and peas and toss well. In separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, salt, pepper, buttermilk and mayonnaise. Pour dressing over salad and toss well to coat thoroughly. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate up to 3 days. Serves 6
