SNOWY DAY COOKIES

1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sifted confectioners sugar
1 tsp almond extract
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup Slivered Almonds, toasted and coarsely ground

Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, cream butter and 1/2 cup confectioners sugar until fluffy. Stir in extracts. In a medium bowl, combine flour and salt. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; stir until a soft dough forms. Stir in almonds. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned.

Roll warm cookies in remaining 1 1/2 cups confectioners sugar. Transfer cookies to wax paper; cool completely. Roll in confectioners sugar again. Store in an airtight container.
