MACADAMIAN WHITE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

1 cup flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/8 tbsp salt and baking soda
1 1/2 cups plus 2 tbsp unsalted butter
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
3/4 cups coarsely chopped macadamia nuts and pecans

Preheat oven to 350. Grease 2 heavy large cookie sheets. Mix first 4 ingredients together in a bowl. Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and stir in dry ingredients, then chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop cookie dough by scant 1/4 cupfuls onto prepared cookie sheets, spacing evenly. Bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Do not overcook. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes and transfer cookies to wire rack to cool. Makes about 18 large cookies.
