PECAN BARS

1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats, or old fashioned
1 1/2 cups flour
2 cups dark brown sugar, packed and divided
1 1/2 cups butter, divided (do not substitute)
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup heavy cream
2 tsp vanilla
In a large bowl, combine oats, flour and 1 cups dark brown sugar. Cut 1/2 cup butter into mixture until coarse and crumbly. Press into 13x9 inch baking pan. Place pecans evenly over crumb mixture. In heavy saucepan, combine remaining 1 cup brown sugar, granulated sugar and 1 cup butter. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil 3 minutes; remove from heat. Stir in cream and vanilla until well blended; pour over pecans. Bake at 350 for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool in pan; cut into bars.
