APPLE SQUARES

3/4 cup softened butter
1 pkg white cake mix
1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/4 to 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl, cut butter into cake mix and set aside 1 cup. Press remaining mixture into a 13x9 inch baking pan. Spread filling on top. In a small bowl, combine reserved mixture with coconut and nuts. Sprinkle over pie filling and bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly before cutting into bars.
