Category: Bread
Prep Time:       Cook Time:       Total Time:

1 pkg 8 inch breadsticks – contains about 12 breadsticks or 1 pkg 4 inch breadsticks – contains about 20 or so breadsticks (The ones found in the cracker section, not the frozen sticks or the large ones found the bakery section of the grocery.)
1 lb thin sliced bacon
1 pkg dry Italian seasoning mix
Parmesan cheese

Separate bacon slices and lay on cookie sheet. Sprinkle seasoning mix light over each slice. (Substitute any seasoning of your choice with Parmesan.) Roll the slices up into pinwheels and slice in half- so that when unrolled, you have 2 long slices.

If using the short breadsticks, cut each slice of bacon crossways before rolling up. Wrap the bacon slices barber-pole style around each breadstick. There will be spaces left uncovered. Place 3 or 4 paper towels on a paper plate (enough to soak up the grease from the bacon).

Set up as many plates as needed, each paper plate will hold about 5 long breadsticks. Lay breadsticks on plates and cover each plate with another paper towel. Microwave for 3 to 4 minutes- depending on your microwave heat- after they cool the bacon should be crunchy. Place breadsticks on a serving plate and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
