ONION GLORIFIED PORK CHOPS

1 medium vegetable oil
6 pork chops
1 onion, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 tsp crushed dried thyme
1 can cream of celery soup
1/4 cup water

In a heavy skillet; heat oil and cook pork chops until browned on both sides; about 10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Add onion and thyme to skillet. Cook over medium-low heat; stirring frequently; until tender-crisp. Stir in soup and water. Bring to a boil and return chops to skillet. Cover; reduce heat to low and cook 5 minutes; serve hot over cooked rice.
