Crust
1 1/2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
6 tbsp butter, melted
3 tbsp sugar
2 tbsp kahlua or strong coffee

Filling
1 quart chocolate ice cream, any flavor
1 pint coffee or hazelnut ice cream
4 tbsp kahlua
4-5 toffee bars, crushed (reserve 4 tbsp for garnish)

Hot Fudge Sauce
8 oz chopped semi-sweet chocolate
2 tbsp, plus 1 tsp butter
1/2 cup sugar and heavy cream
1/4 cup hot water
1 tsp vanilla
Pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 350. Mix all crust ingredients in a medium bowl and press mixture into the bottom of a 9 inch spring-form pan with 2 3/4 inch high on the sides. Bake until firm, about 8 minutes. Transfer pan to a rack to cool completely.

Mix ice cream and kahlua in a large bowl. Mix in toffee and pour mixture into the crust, smooth top, freeze until firm, about 4 hours. (Can be prepared 2 days ahead, covered.)

Using a small knife cut around side of pan to loosen torte. Remove pan sides, sprinkle with reserve candy bars on top. Let torte stand 3-5 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve with hot fudge sauce.

Sauce: Combine chopped chocolate with butter, sugar, heavy cream and water. Melt mixture stirring, at low heat for five minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla and salt; serve warm. Variation: Layer the ice creams instead of mixing them.
