ASPARAGUS CASSEROLE

Category: Asparagus

1/2 lb medium sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2 cups soda cracker crumbs
1/2 cup butter, melted
2 (14 1/2 oz) cans asparagus or amount comparable of fresh
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup slivered almonds

Preheat oven to 350. Mix first three ingredients and press firmly in the bottom of a buttered 8x10 inch casserole dish. Add asparagus liquid to soup. Arrange asparagus over the crust and pour soup mixture evenly over all; sprinkle with nuts and bake for 30 minutes. After remove from oven, set aside for a few minutes before serving. Serves 10
