SAVORY SAUSAGE BALLS

1 egg, lightly beaten
1 lb hot or milk bulk sausage
1/2 cup herb stuffing mix
1/4 tsp rubbed sage
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup each ketchup and chili sauce
2 tbsp packed brown sugar
1 tbsp easy soy sauce and vinegar

In a bowl, combine first 4 ingredients and shape into 1 inch balls. Add to a large skillet; cook over medium heat, turning occasionally, 5-8 minutes or until browned on all sides; remove and drain on paper towels.

Drain fat from skillet. Add remaining ingredients to skillet; stir to coat. Bring to a boil over medium-heat. Cover; reduce heat to medium- low and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Transfer to a chafing dish and serve with toothpicks.

NOTE: Can be prepared ahead of time. Cover and refrigerate or freeze until ready to serve. Bake, covered, with sauce at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until heated through.
