12 large whole strawberries, stems attached
3 oz Belgian semi-sweet chocolate
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp cognac, brandy or orange liqueur
Melt chocolate with butter and liqueur in a double boiler. Dip strawberries halfway into the chocolate and set them on a plate covered with wax paper. Refrigerate just long enough for the chocolate to set, about 10 minutes.
NOTE: Best eaten the day they are made.
