FROZEN CHOCOLATE BLISS

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 3/4 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream (in rectangular block)
2/3 cup chopped nuts, optional
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
1 cup chocolate chips
Combine first 2 ingredients and press into the bottom of a 13x9 inch baking dish. Cut ice cream into inch-thick slices and place over cookie crust. Cover; freeze for 1-2 hours or until firm.
Once mixture is firm, combine remaining ingredients, except nuts, in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Let boil for 8 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
Remove dessert from freezer, uncover, and pour warm mixture over all. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Recover and freeze until firm. Let sit at room temperature about 5 minutes before cutting to serve.
