CHOCOLATE CAKE SUPREME

1 box chocolate cake mix with pudding
1 (12 oz) pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup brandy
1/2 cup apricot preserves
3/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Stir in 1 cup chocolate chips. Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 9 inch round baking pans and bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean. Cool in pans for 10 minutes and then remove and let cool completely on wire racks.

Brush brandy over cakes and allow to stand until the brandy is absorbed. Spread preserves on top of bottom layer and place the other layer on top.

Melt remaining chocolate chips in a saucepan over low heat. Stir frequently. Remove form heat and gradually stir in sour cream, blending well. Spread frosting over cake and sprinkle with pecans. Chill overnight.
