HONEY-BARBECUE CHICKEN

Category: Poultry I

1 large onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup butter
1 cup ketchup
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp pepper
6 bone-in chicken breast halves

For sauce, cook onion in butter until tender. Stir in next 6 ingredients. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Transfer sauce to a covered storage container. Cover and chill up to 24 hours.

Prepare grill for medium-hot coals around a drip pan. Test for medium heat above pan. Place chicken pieces, bone sides down, on grill rack over drip pan. Cover and grill for 40-50 minutes or till chicken in no longer pink, brushing occasionally with sauce during last 10 minutes of grilling. Serves 6
