SHRIMP SPAGHETTI

4 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 lb unpeeled shrimp, medium size
1/2 (7 oz) pkg vermicelli or thin spaghetti
1/3 cup butter and flour
2/3 cup chicken broth and whipping cream
3/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese
2 1/2 tbsp dry sherry
2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground white pepper
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese and slivered almonds
Bring water to a boil; add shrimp and cook 3-5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink. Drain well; rinse with cold water. Chill, peel and devein and then set aside. Cook vermicelli according to directions; drain.
Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat; stir in flour. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add broth and cream; cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thickened. Stir in cheese, sherry, salt and pepper.
Remove from heat; stir in shrimp and pasta. Spoon mixture into a greased 2-quart casserole; sprinkle with cheese and almonds. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 20 minutes or until heated through. Switch to broiler. Broil 5 1/2 inch from heat for 6 minutes or until browned. Serves 6
